There are plenty of tricks to getting an enviable glow, be they a sun kissed tan or the highlighter and bronzing palette but what does it take to be able to sport a natural glow on an everyday basis?

We’ve listed some techniques for those in search of the holy grail: natural, glowing, healthy and youthful skin.

SPF: make it part of your daily ritual

This is a drum we have been beating for time untold. SPF is our first defence against the harmful and ageing rays of the sun come rain or shine. And it’s an important point to stress that the suns rays are just as harmful when it’s overcast as when it is beating down at 30 degrees, so don’t get lured into a false sense of security. Ensure that the product you employ guards you against UVA and UVB rays for full coverage.

Bottoms up!

We’re all about easy to employ methods when it comes to upping your skin care regime, and the easiest of them all is to increase the amount of water you consume.

The fact is that skin is an organ, and just like any other part of the body. Your skin is made up of cells. And skin cells, like any other cell in the body, are made up of water. Without water, the organs will certainly not function properly or at their best.

Be sure to get your 2 litres (at least) for healthy and glowing skin.

Refrain from touching your face

Even the biggest germophobes would leave a lot to be desired if hands were put under the microscope. Each time we squeeze a spot it causes trauma to the skin whilst pushing bacteria into the pore, which results in discolouration and scarring.

Maximise your skin routine

There should be a method to your application. Whilst everyone is different and thus so are the requirements for our skin, a process to your skin care regime could mean make or break. Start off with your serums as these with contain the most active ingredients so you want them to have direct contact with your skin.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a super hydrator with an ability to hold up to 100 times its own weight in water, drawing water into every layer of the skin and retaining it.

Get your Zzzzzzz’s

Just like you, your skin needs a good nights’s rest in order to do all of the magical things it needs to in order to counteract the effects and toiling of the day.

Before you go to bed, cleanse and moisturise to put your skin on the best footing for the night shift.

Why did you think they called it beauty sleep?
